The editors at Elsevier's electronic publications are part of a revolution, and could hardly be oblivious to the
issues surrounding new ways to conduct and distribute scientific discourse on the Internet. In a recent debate, Elsevier's
Science Channel sought the opinions of prominent medical journal editors about the
new potential and new problems that electronic publishing can bring to the peer review process. We reprint it here, to accompany
our own point-counterpoint Opinion on the related issue of authors' rights.
