Annie's 2nd Surgery

They wanted to do chemo until it shrinks the tumor so it is able to be removed. They finally scheduled her 2nd surgery for March 13 2000. We found out the Wed. before. We had about 6 days to prepare. Boy were we excited!!

This trip to the hospital was alot better than the first one! Her surgery was for 11:00 am They didn't get started until about 1:00 pm. It lasted until 6:00 pm That was the longest day of my life. (Besides labor of course) The surgeon (Dr. Saxton) came in and told us that they got the whole kidney and surrounding tissue plus there was some grape like clusters in her abdomen lining. Those were active. Annie bounced right back in 8 days required one bag of blood during surgery.

Annie had a central line until her 2nd surgery now she has a port. She had several hospital stays for viruses that made her spike high fevers and low blood counts. But she is doing wonderful!!! She just turned 3 on June 20th. She got to go to chuck e cheese.

Annie got to go to Disney World for her make a wish. We left on May 22 and came back on the 27th. Her fav. was the bear in the big blue house live on stage. That was at M G M Studios. We went to Universal Studios, and the Magic Kingdom. We attempted to go to Sea World, but she got sick that day. We spent the whole day at a hospital in Florida! I guess she wanted to see everything!! Annie still has her same personality, and she gets her way all the time. We are working on that part. It's hard though because the thought of losing her. We are saving the money to make up the last day of her Disney trip to take her to something close . . . there isn't much around here to go to that can beat Disney... Annie gets an M R I tomorrow. July 17 2000. Her last ct scan was in February. So the Dr.s want to see what is going on inside of her belly. The first attempt was a cough, the second attempt was that she was allergic to the Iodine in the contrast. I guess the 3rd time is always the charm . . . wish us luck
