Web Sites

Teens Living With Cancer

A comprehensive site with information on cancer, methods for dealing with cancer treatment, discussion groups, medical dictionary, more. This site is supported by the Childrens Oncology Group.

Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults

The Ulman Cancer Fund provides support for families of teens with cancer. Writings, scholarship, discussion groups.

Re-mission

A community for young people living with cancer. The game, Re-mission, is offered on the web site, as well as blogs, message boards, more.

Young Adults: I'm Too Young for This

A place for young adults affected by cancer. "Stupid Cancer Show", survivorship issues, communities, links, various projects.

Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation

Coping with Chemo™ is a series of online animated stories or “webisodes” that help young people learn how to cope with the challenges of having cancer and undergoing treatment. Starbright World® is a Web-based social network developed for teens living with a chronic or serious illness (and their siblings) to help them connect with other kids in similar situations.

Survivor Alert

For teens and young adult survivors of cancer. Information on practical matters of survivorship: how to get your records, what records you need, where to learn about late effects, health insurance issues, where to get medical treatment, tips on healthy life style choices. MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital

Web page for kids and teens. Photo gallery, link to the MD Anderson AYA program, activities and events, and CareFlash, a social networking site to keep in communication with friends and family. (reviewed 10/07)

Discussion group for preteen/teens who had or have cancer.

This list is for youth aged 12-21 on or off-treatment for cancer. Posts to the list are private and confidential: They will not be publicly available outside the list as it is essential that the kids feel safe in posting.
